The Vivosun AW400 is a tunable spectrum LED grow light with adjustable wings and integrated circulation fans. It is packing a lot of tech and innovation into a single grow light!
The AW400 draws just under 400 watts from the wall and can cover an area of 4ft x 4ft for flowering.
I tested it in a 4ft x 4ft area with reflective walls and an Apogee SQ500 quantum sensor. I took 64 PAR readings across the target area.
The average PAR over the 4ftx4ft space is 691 µmols/m²/second and the system efficiency is 2.51 usable PPF per watt consumed, an excellent result but not surprising. The AW400 is packed with Samsung LM301H Evo LEDs, the best on the market.
The spectrum can be adjusted via the Growhub controller or App to three settings:
- Seedling (more blue for short and dense growth)
- Vegetative (still a lot of blue but increase in power to accelerate veg time)
- Flower (Reds, Far reds and UVA LEDs on full power to maximise yield and flavour)
The circulation fans are very handy as they eliminate the need for a bulky fan attached to the tent poles.
The fans are variable speed and can be adjusted in 6 increments from off to full speed. The fans run very quiet and are very effective at cooling the canopy and moving the air around in the grow tent.
The side LED panels can be adjusted to increase or decrease the spread of light from the AW400. No tools are required, the weighted hinges keep the wings in position after adjustment.
